How to prepare your device for donation
Time to remove all personal data, passcodes, and login information.
Find your Device
Apple
- Remove all password protections (pin#, password, face and/or finger print recognition) and set to None.
- Go to Settings on your device and sign out of iCloud.
- Go back to Settings and tap General > Transfer or Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
- If asked for your device passcode or restrictions passcode, enter it. Then select Erase.
Samsung
- If Factory Reset Protection is on go to Settings > Lock screen > Screen lock type and choose None.
- If you have a Google account, go to Settings > Accounts and backup > Accounts and tap on Google, then tap Remove account.
- From Settings > Factory Data Reset > Select Reset > Delete all
- If asked for your device passcode enter it, and then tap Delete all.
Google, LG, Motorola, and Other
- If Factory Reset Protection is on, go to Settings > Lock screen > Screen lock type and choose None.
- From Settings > either Backup and Reset or Privacy > Tap Factory Data Reset > Erase everything.
- If asked for your device passcode enter it, and then tap Delete all.
